CSA - A Kevin Willmott FilmFilmmaker / actor / writer / college professor and raconteur, Kevin Willmott is a dynamic, highly opinionated American luminary on the rise – someone who always has something substantial to say.

Following its knockout screenings at The Sundance Film Festival, Willmott’s most recent feature film, CSA: Confederate States of America, presented by Spike Lee, was sold for domestic theatrical distribution to IFC Films. Already a hit in Spain, CSA – an audacious, bitterly humorous faux documentary about an America in which the South won the Civil War -- will officially premiere in New York and Los Angeles by early 2006. Among the media outlets to hail CSA at Sundance was Entertainment Weekly, which called the film “mind-bending! Scandalous, fearless, and hilarious.”

CSA - A Kevin Willmott FilmHe is that rare Hollywood veteran to truly eschew life in Hollywood, but Willmott’s screenplays have nevertheless been commissioned by Oliver Stone, 20th Century Fox, Whoopi Goldberg and others. He co-wrote the NBC mini-series The 70’s and wrote and co-directed Ninth Street, a feature film inspired by his childhood as an African-American growing up in a Midwestern Army town during The Viet Nam War. Willmott co-starred in Ninth Street with Martin Sheen and Isaac Hayes. In addition to filmmaking, Willmott teaches at The University of Kansas and lectures throughout the country and abroad. He received his Master’s in Screenwriting from New York University.

In Development will be designed to best utilize Willmott’s expansive gift of gab, sonorous voice, raucous sense of humor and the kind of wisdom that can only be gained by a triumphant life that started with indisputably modest roots. Joined by veteran talk show host and occasional collaborator Greg Hurd, Willmott will direct fellow filmmakers, writers, critics, studio and network executives and others in a wild, wide-ranging weekly conversation about the current cinema, television, and how pop culture is affecting society -- for better or for worse.

And from where does hip, Black, intellectual artiste hold court? Where else? The college town of Lawrence, Kansas, where he and his wife have raised their five children.

There are few Americans today with as much to offer as Kevin Willmott. His is a singular perspective on American culture, one that could only come from the burgeoning arts scene in Lawrence, housed in the bustling, high-tech film studios that are sprouting up along that city’s Ninth Street corridor.

Door2Door, an entertaining and informative real estate show, launched on HotTalk 1510,KCTE, Kansas City, with host David Van Noy, Jr. David is a seasoned veteran in real estate, both local and national, and will host the program each Saturday from 10-11AM. Topics include the featured listing of the week, inside tips for consumers, and the secret agent adventures, which profiles a different realtor each week, and some hilarious stories they have to offer. The National Defense with Jerry Newberry

We have some blockbuster news to share with you about one of radio's fasting growing syndicated programs--The National Defense. Beginning July 4, The National Defense will take center stage on one of the Internet's busiest news and opinion web sites, Townhall.com! Brainstorm Media and The National Defense have joined forces with Salem Communications and Townhall.com and the result is an explosive increase in audience for the program and our sponsors.
